For this very reason, we have recently received our newest shipment of the Swap Magic Disc and have made sure to have only the latest version 3.8 available.  Now, this upgrade does not mean that both discs are updated, as the factory themselves have decided not to update the cd discs to 3.8, because there was simply no need for the addition of compatibility for the newest games, considering that cd based games have stopped completely and every single ps2 game that has come out for the last handful of years have all been on DVD.

The way you play Picross is by coyping a puzzle or exsiting pixel picture.  You are presented with the picture, and you have a certain number of moves in which you have to complete the game.  Use more moves than you alloted amount and you won't finish the level at all.  You'll fail it.  In theory, the game should be simply and easy to beat.  But as you get in to the higher levels of the game you come to realize that unless you have a strategy in mind for how to complete the puzzle and draw the image on your your side of the screen.  The more complex the images get, the harder you'll find it to actually draw the images on your part of the screen.  Or at least draw them in the number of turns or pixels you can use.  

This game will appeal to kids who love puzzle games, and also to adults because of the advanced strategies you have to use in order to complete the harder levels.  The thing that appeals to us most about games like picrossDS is that even when you only have a 5, 10, maybe 15 minutes to play, you can pick up this game, finish a level or two and continue it later.  That alone makes this game the perfect game to play between classic or on a quick break at work.

As we've come to expect since the days of the DSi and the DSI XL, a new firmware / system update was released for the Nintendo 3DS bringing the 3DS eStore to your favorite hand held console.  With this update new features were added to the 3DS system, and as a result, a new update was required in order for the R4i 3DS SDHC to work in conjunction with this update.  While there are no major feature changes for the R4i 3DS, it bringscomplete compatibility to all 3DS systems world wide even with the newest v2 system.

If you have not yet updated to the new v2.0 on your Nintendo 3DS, this r4i firmware update is not required.  If you have however updated, and can't use your card, then the fix is quick and easy.  You can use the WiFi update built into the R4i, or simply download the firmware from the link below for complete compatibility with the newest version.  And you will be able to continue to enjoy all of the multimedia features and functions you've come to expect from your Nintendo 3DS and your R4i 3DS card.

While the R4 Nintendo 3DS version is compatible with most major brands of memory cards, there are some that simply don't work.  There are often situations where a bigger brand has to purchase their products from a different supplier, and even though the brand name on the packaging may be one that would normally be compatible, the fact that the parts inside are from a different factory means you could potentially get a card that simply won't work.

You'll need the NoCa$sh Gba Emulator for the Nintendo DSi or Nintendo 3DS.  Or alternately the Supercard DSTwo which has the emulator built in.  All of these methods will have your playing your GBA games right on your Nintendo 3DS system.  There are literally thousands of GBA games out there, many of which are truly unique and amazing games.

For the built in GBA emulator, there are only a few cards like the SuperCard DSTwo card.  Other cards all require software in order to be able to load and play GBA games.  The software / emulator is however free.
