As many of our customers already know... The Newest Nintendo Wii console with the D2C chipset, that has started showing up in parts of the UK and Europe - has also reached North American Shores. D2C chipset Wii consoles are now coming out in many North American chain stores such as Wal-Mart and Target.

These console are not able to be modified with the current run of Nintendo Wii Mod Chips such as the WiiKey or the CycloWiz, etc... However, the D2CKey - from the makers for the WiiKey for the Nintendo Wii have released their D2C chipset compatible D2CKey.

We will begin taking pre-orders for the D2CKey within the next coming days, and you can expect our stock to arrive to us within the next 10 - 15 working days.

Shipping And Emails to Resume after Office Flood.

Which is better? DS linker or R4

That's a question we hear very often. And why not. There are countless slot 1 solutions on the market for the Nintendo DS and it can make picking the right one - without first being able to use it - a bit more complicated. But it really doesn't have to be. There are slews of reviews online for virtually any Nintendo DS Flash Carts - including the most popular Slot 1 Solutions too.

So Which is better? The DS Linker or R4 DS ?

From what we can gather, the R4 DS seems to be a favorite among homebrew gamers. It offers unrivaled compatibility and speed with games. IN fact the only Slot 1 Solution that matches it is the M3 DS simply - And this is simply because (excuse the pun) the 2 units are made by the exact same people - at the exact same factory - and have exactly the same software (albeit not interchangeable between the two units). Both the M3 DS simply and the R4 DS are compatible with the brunt of the games on the market today. While the DS Linker is also compatible with many of the games, there are certain issues such as games slowing down, or intro movies not playing smoothly.

The DS Linker is a fine unit - don't get us wrong. And quite suitable for one reason or another to many of our customers. Perhaps they have a friend who has a DS Linker or it's the unit the prefer based on some of the homebrew applications that were made especially for that unit.

What is also important to consider when making your purchasing decision is memory. The DS linker and several other units have built in flash memory. This means that you won't be able to add more storage should you need to do so in the future. Now, 8Gbits (1 Gigabyte) is more than enough right now to store up to 20 - 50 files, depending on the file sizes, it may not be enough if in the future.

The Advantage that units like the R4 DS and the M3 DS Simply have are that they use external microSD cards that you can buy very cheaply at most electronics stores. So you're not at all stuck with any memory limitations, and can in fact have 2 or 3 microSD cards, each holding 20 - 50 files that you can carry in your pockey. Pretty darn good if you as us. Having the flexibility to upgrade the memory space - or have more than one memory card that you can pop into the unit is something that should be taken very seriously - it really does open up a whole new spectrum of storing and playing multi game files and homebrew applications.

Cheapest Slot 1 Flash Carts

There is plenty of choice (and even more confusion) when it comes to purchasing your Slot 1 Flash cart. More often than not, because most units have many of the same features and functions it really comes down to the design (asthetic appeal of the product) and then, the biggest factor is the PRICE.

When you're looking for a flash cart, you may not want to get the Cheaperst Slot 1 Flash - but may be pleasantly surprised to learn that going from one that perhaps isn't as good, to one that is rated as the best Nintendo DS Slot 1 Flash cart doesn't mean you have to break your wallet. For this reason we'll focus right now on only one of Xbox 360 Mods. The All360 Xbox 360 Mods are virtually identical to the Globe360 mod chips. How To Install R4 DS

Welcome to our quick guide on How To Install R4 DS. Or more precisely, how to set up your R4 DS so that you're able to use it's features and functions on your Nintendo DS. This guide on how to install the R4 DS will explain, in detail, all of the steps needed to get your R4 DS ready to accept your games and homebrew software.

The R4 DS does not come ready to work, out of the box. While you get everything you need (including the software you'll have to put on your microSD card) you will need to manually put the operating system for the R4 DS on the actual microSD Card.

As a side note, if you own, or are thinking of buying an M3 DS SIMPLY then this guide is actually relevant to your M3 DS Simply Slot 1 card too - word for word. Because both of these units are manufactured by the same factory (read: people) the setup instructions to get you up and running are exactly the same.

It may seem strange that the R4 DS does not immediately come with an operating system but that is simply because it requires the use of a MicroSD Card in order to store both the operating system as well as the files you want to store and load.

You'll first need to go to the R4DS website in order to download the latest software / operating system for the R4 DS. Once you've saved the archive on your computer (make sure to save it to a location that you make note of - so you can find it) you'll need to use winrar to unpack the archive to a directory in the folder where you've saved your file. You can download a free / shareware version of winrar to do the unpacking for now.

Once you've unpacked the archive - follow these steps to copy the files to your microSD card by using the microSD Card reader/writer (with your microSD Card plugged into the reader/writer) that you should by now have plugged into a free USB port on your PC or Laptop.

Step 1) R4 DS Hardware Installation
Connect the MicrosSD (Transflash) card to PC with the card reader, then go to the "/SYSTEM" directory on the CD-Rom Disc that was included with your R4 DS... Or if you downloaded the system files, copy them from the directory that you unpacked the operating system into.

A- Loading the game kernel: Copy the "_DS_MENU.DAT" from the directory of the simplified game kernel/ traditional game kernel to the root directory of microSD card.

B- Loading the media kernel: Copy the "moonshl" folder and the "_DS_MSHL.NDS" file at the "moonshell" directory to the root directory of TF card;
C- Load the DIY interface: Copy all the folders "_system_" to the root directory of the TF card.
2) Unload TF Card
After you have finished adding all of the system files / operating system, and the game / homebrew files you want to have on your microSD card, then right click the removable disk icon on the right hand corner of the screen; Pull out the MicroSD card from card reader/writer.

And that's it! You're now set to start playing. Just plug the MicroSD Card into the microSD card slot of the R4 DS (or the M3 DS Simply) and plug the R4 DS into the cartridge slot of your Nintendo DS and power up. You'll see the R4 DS menu system and you can then make the selection of your choice. Either Games or media.

How To Use Swap Magic DVD

How to Use the Swap Magic DVD is explained here in detail. You'll be surprised at just how easy it is to actually load your import or backup Playstation 2 games with the Swap Magic DVD or Swap Magic CD Disc. The Swap Magic discs come with 2 different discs. Both of them look and act the same, but the DVD disc is used for loading DVD based games, while the CD Disc is used to load CD based games.

The very first step you have to take when using the Swap Magic Discs, is to power up your Playstation 2 console, and insert either the DVD or the CD Version of your Swap Magic discs. The DVD Version of the Swap Magic is used for loading up DVD based backup and import Playstation 2 games, while the CD Version of the Swap Magic is used for booting up CD Based backup or import games.

Once you have loaded up the Swap Magic main menu, you will be greeted by 2 different menu options. The LOAD PROGRAM option is the one you'll want to use, in order to load your import order backup or import Playstation 2 game.

You'll need either a Flip Top cover or a Slide card / Slide tool in order to use the Swap Magic discs. Without these, you won't be able to swap out the Swap magic disc and won't be able to use the swap magic dvd or cd discs at all.

HDD Loader File

The HDD Loader File is actually called the HD Loader for Playstation 2. It is a disc / software that allows you to load and store you PS2 games right from a Playstation 2 Hard Drive. It is not a piece of software that you can write to a blank CD or DVD and put it into your Playstation 2 console in order to load it up. It boots just like any normal game would. You put in the HD Loader disc and immediately start playing the HD Loader software where you're able to load / store games to a built in Hard Drive in your playstation 2.

The HD Loader allows you to, once loaded, to put in any game disc and then store it onto the hard drive. In essense it is an HDD Loader File, because it allows you to boot it into memory, and then install the games / homebrew applications to a hard drive installed into your PS2.

You can also use any HDD Loader / Hard drive in order to store your games on to. You are not limited to using only the 40 gig hard drive that came with Final Fantasy for the Playstation 2 - but in fact you can put in any HDD drive, even one that is 120Gig.

Flip Top Cover

When looking for ways to play import games without a mod chip - there are really only 2 different options available - both of them equally good, quick, and easy to do.

The first option available is the Flip Top Cover for the Playstation 2. Whether you need a flip top cover for the older, thicker Playstation 2 consoles, or the newer slim ps2 flip top cover which works the same as the older model.

You can't however use the flip top cover on its own. You need to combine the flip top cover with a swap magic disc or an ultimate swap disc. Swap Disc Wii - A Nintendo Wii Swap Disc

Are you looking for a Swap Disc for the Nintendo Wii ? If so, we regret to inform you that there is no such Swap Disc for Wii at all. Unlike the Playstation 2 which has the Swap Magic Discs which enable gamers to play import and backup games for their PS2 console - without the need for a mod chip. The Swap Disc for Wii just does not exist.

While a Wii Swap Disc would truly be something we would carry, in a heartbeat of course. There simply is no outlook for a Wii Swap Disc. The reason for this is that all Nintendo Wii Mod Chips are just Drive Chips. By this we mean that they control and send information to the DVD Rom drive in the Nintendo Wii console, as opposed to working with or writing to the BIOS chip of the Wii. A Swap Disc for the Wii would require some work to more intimately interact with the actual Bios of the Wii console.

While we won't rule a Swap Disc Wii Edition - we don't see this item as something that is as yet possible. Even booting simply Homebrew games on the Wii still require quite a bit of work, and for this reason - a Swap Disc Wii Version is not something that we see as being available any time in the near future.

For this reason we suggest to all of our customers either the WiiKey mod chip for the Wii or the Cyclowiz Mod chip for the Nintendo Wii, both of which allows playing of import and backup Wii games quickly and easily.

Playing Roms on Nintendo DS

There are various products on the market today that allow you to play roms on your Nintendo DS. Many DS owners think that Playing Roms on the Nintendo DS is an arduous task, requiring countless hours of converting files, finding software, expensive flash carts, etc... The truth is that Nintendo DS Flash Carts have come a long way. In fact, they are as easy to use as popping in an Nintendo DS Cartridge.

There are two favorites (based on sales popularity and reviews from customers) that are available on the market today, both for under $50.00 dollars (even under $40.00 in fact!)

The two units in question are the R4 DS and the M3 DS Simply. Both the R4 DS and the M3 DS Simply are what's known as a SLOT 1 solution to playing roms on Nintendo DS. These "slot 1" cards are the same size as an original Nintendo DS cartridge, and are inserted into the same Nintendo DS Cartridge slot on your NDS or NDS Lite.

Both the R4 DS and the M3 DS Simply require you to also have a MicroSD Card, as they load and store files from microSD memory cards - very common flash cards available at all electronics store.

By simply using the included microSD Card reader / writer that comes bundled with both the M3 DS Simply and the R4 DS, you're able to load / copy games and homebrew applications to the microSD card with ease. You then remove the microSD Card from your reader / writer and insert it into the microSD Card slot on the M3 DS simply or the R4 DS and turn on your Nintendo DS. You'll immediately be taken to a menu screen, where you select the GAME icon and you'll be shown a list of your games and homebrew applications.
