PS2Cover Server Change - Email messages have been temporarily lost

As many of our customers may have noticed, we are now located on a new server. Unfortunately, during the change over / transfer, some 300+ email messages have been "lost". We are working hard to retrieve them from the old server, but because the server is faulty (hence our change over) some data, as well as blog posts and news, etc... have been lost. We are working hard to resolve these issues. Please do note that all new email coming in on this server is being responded to and is working.

If you required assistance, and your email has not been responded to, please send another email so that we may be able to help you immediately. We apologize for this inconvenience for our customers. Please know we are doing all we can to resolve this matter.

Thank you!

Shipping And Emails to Resume after Office Flood.

As stated in an earlier blog post. Our staff here at PS2Cover.com have had the unfortunately experience of having our office flood due to heavy rains and a leak in the roof of our office building. Thankfully, no records were lost or damaged, but our office was essentially unworkable for a period of 7 days. For this reason we have not been able to respond as swiftly to our email inquiries from our valued customers and our shipping times have been delayed by 7 working days.

Thankfully, we will be able to resume normal operations starting tomorrow afternoon, and will begin to immediately pick, pack and ship customer orders as well as respond to customer inquires as quickly as possible.

We appreciate your patience and your business during this time. For those of our new customers who were affected - we apologize for any inconvenience caused. A large number of you with the longest delays will receive a suprise in your parcel from PS2Cover.com

Thank you again.

Which is better? DS linker or R4

That's a question we hear very often. And why not. There are countless slot 1 solutions on the market for the Nintendo DS and it can make picking the right one - without first being able to use it - a bit more complicated. But it really doesn't have to be. There are slews of reviews online for virtually any Nintendo DS Flash Carts - including the most popular Slot 1 Solutions too.

So Which is better? The DS Linker or R4 DS ?

From what we can gather, the R4 DS seems to be a favorite among homebrew gamers. It offers unrivaled compatibility and speed with games. IN fact the only Slot 1 Solution that matches it is the M3 DS simply - And this is simply because (excuse the pun) the 2 units are made by the exact same people - at the exact same factory - and have exactly the same software (albeit not interchangeable between the two units). Both the M3 DS simply and the R4 DS are compatible with the brunt of the games on the market today. While the DS Linker is also compatible with many of the games, there are certain issues such as games slowing down, or intro movies not playing smoothly.

The DS Linker is a fine unit - don't get us wrong. And quite suitable for one reason or another to many of our customers. Perhaps they have a friend who has a DS Linker or it's the unit the prefer based on some of the homebrew applications that were made especially for that unit.

What is also important to consider when making your purchasing decision is memory. The DS linker and several other units have built in flash memory. This means that you won't be able to add more storage should you need to do so in the future. Now, 8Gbits (1 Gigabyte) is more than enough right now to store up to 20 - 50 files, depending on the file sizes, it may not be enough if in the future.

The Advantage that units like the R4 DS and the M3 DS Simply have are that they use external microSD cards that you can buy very cheaply at most electronics stores. So you're not at all stuck with any memory limitations, and can in fact have 2 or 3 microSD cards, each holding 20 - 50 files that you can carry in your pockey. Pretty darn good if you as us. Having the flexibility to upgrade the memory space - or have more than one memory card that you can pop into the unit is something that should be taken very seriously - it really does open up a whole new spectrum of storing and playing multi game files and homebrew applications.

Cheapest Slot 1 Flash Carts

There is plenty of choice (and even more confusion) when it comes to purchasing your Slot 1 Flash cart. More often than not, because most units have many of the same features and functions it really comes down to the design (asthetic appeal of the product) and then, the biggest factor is the PRICE.

When you're looking for a flash cart, you may not want to get the Cheaperst Slot 1 Flash - but may be pleasantly surprised to learn that going from one that perhaps isn't as good, to one that is rated as the best Nintendo DS Slot 1 Flash cart doesn't mean you have to break your wallet. The prices vary, in most cases, by only $4 - $10 dollars. And speding an extra $4.00 to get something that has cusomters raving, as opposed to substandard support from the manufacturer might be exactly what you need.

There is very little - if any - difference between say the M3 DS Simply and the R4 DS Slot 1 solution. But if you're getting into something like the NinjaDS slot 1 card, you may be sacrificing a whole slew of features for the sake of saving $5.00. While we carry all of them (we want to make sure out customers have a wide variety of choices ) We do have our favorites - and they are not based on our own biased opinions but on reviews of the products by people like you - the customers!

Xbox 360 Mods

There are numerous Xbox 360 Mods on the market today. Listing each one of them would only bring on a wave of confusion and undecidedness. For this reason we'll focus right now on only one of Xbox 360 Mods. The All360 Xbox 360 Mods are virtually identical to the Globe360 mod chips. They enable your Xbox 360 to play all kinds of games, including import and backup games.
Unlike many of the Xbox 360 Mods on the market, that are mainly just firmware upgrades to your console, rendering them unuseable on Xbox live marketplace or Xbox live multi player sessions. The All360 modchips are actually chips that are universal and undetectable to the Xbox live system. This is because they do not actually update your firmware in way, shape or form, and only inject code to the Xbox 360 when it is required, then turning themselves off again - as if there was no xbox 360 mod chip installed.
For this reason, when you're looking at all of the Xbox 360 Mod Chips available. We would strongly urge you to look at the All360 or Glove 360 modchips. You'll save yourself a lot fo headaches and also from potentially being blocked from Xbox Live (the heart of online gaming when it comes to Xbox) and allow you to continue to play all of your games.

Swap Magic Slim Packages

Swap magic slim packages come in just 2 shapes and sizes. Either a flip top lid for your slim ps2 or the Swap Magic slim tool package. Both of which will allow you to use the swap magic to play your favorite games.

If you own a slim PS2 console, you have two choices when it comes to playing ps2 import games on your playstation 2 console - without the need for installing any type of a ps2 modchip. As you know, ps2 mod chips allow you to play import and backed up playstation 2 games on any region playstation 2 console.

The first option for a Swap Magic Slim Package is the Swap Magic & Slim PS2 Flip Top Package - this small little replacement flip top replaces just the top loading tray section of your original slim ps2 console to allow you to use the swap magic to play import and backup games. The installation of the replacement flip lid is quick and easy - and takes most of our customers less than 15 - 25 minutes from start to finish.

The second option is the Ultimate Swap Magic and Slim Tool Combo package. This does not require you to put on a new flip lid on your slim ps2 console, but instead to insert the 3 pieces of the small SLIM TOOL to the specific locations on your ps2 console in order to make them work with the Swap magic to allow you to swap your games.

You can find out more about both of these options at our Swap Magic and PS2 Mod Chip products page.
